About Me – Chef Barbara from GrandmomsRecipe.com 👩‍🍳

Welcome to my cozy little corner of the internet!
I’m Barbara, a passionate home cook, grandmother of six beautiful grandchildren, and the heart behind GrandmomsRecipe.com.

From the time I was a little girl, standing on a step stool beside my mother as she stirred soup and baked bread, I learned that food is so much more than just nourishment. It’s love on a plate. It’s the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the comfort we offer one another.

A Kitchen Full of Memories

I grew up in rural Pennsylvania in the 1960s, in a house that always smelled of warm vanilla, butter, and freshly brewed coffee. My grandmother—whom we all lovingly called “Nana”—never used a written recipe. She cooked from the heart, with rhythm, patience, and care. Her kitchen was always filled with giggles, stories, and healing meals for every kind of heartbreak.

I remember sneaking tastes of cookie dough, cutting out sugar cookies for the first time, and hearing her say:

“Barbara, you can taste the love when you put it in yourself.”

Those little moments didn’t just become memories—they became a part of who I am.

Why I Started GrandmomsRecipe.com

Years later, with silver in my hair and recipe notes scribbled on flour-dusted paper scraps, I realized something: these cherished dishes—our family recipes—deserved to be preserved and passed on.

That’s how GrandmomsRecipe.com was born. Not just as a recipe site, but as a legacy. A place where tradition lives on, where stories are served alongside supper, and where the warmth of the kitchen can reach people far beyond my own home.

Here, I share recipes that have been tested, loved, and made over generations. From Sunday cakes and chicken stews to cozy holiday treats—each one written with care so that you can recreate them with confidence.

My Kitchen Philosophy: Simple, Honest, Heartfelt

I truly believe that:

  • You don’t need fancy ingredients to create something wonderful
  • Mistakes are part of the magic—some of my best recipes started with a slip
  • And most importantly: cooking should feel good

On GrandmomsRecipe.com, you’ll find recipes that work—with ingredients you already have and directions that make sense. No stress. Just love in every bite.

I’m So Glad You’re Here

Whether you’re new to cooking or a seasoned home chef, I’m so happy you stopped by. Maybe you’ll find a new favorite dish, a little inspiration, or even a sense of home.

If you ever want to share your story, ask a question, or just say hello—I’d love to hear from you.

Let’s cook, share, and make new memories together—
With warmth,
Chef Barbara
